PROFILE of an Progressive African Academic

Kimani Nehusi (PhD) is a progressive African historian born in Guyana. Dr. Nehusi, who was also widely known as an athlete and community organiser, has lectured at the University of Guyana, the University of London and University of East London. He is known for his work on lingustics and Ancient Egyptian( Kemet) linguistic dispersal and has a study remit in African and Caribbean history and society, including Nile Valley societies; research methodologies; education and socialisation and African and Caribbean languages.

I receive e-mails from Amazon.com indicating specific movies. The movie "500 years" was on the list so I checked it out from the library. In the video, you spoke of the existing "mental slavery" of African Americans. After rewinding it a few times, I paused it to Google you. The concept is very profound, accurate, and one the majority of people would never admit to. The disappearance of the tangible slavery attachments (chains, slave master, etc.) only freed us physically. The curse is still within our minds. I enjoyed reading your blog and will look for more from you. Continue to be blessed....
